INGREDIENTS

  • 1lb Brussels Sprouts

  • Peanut Oil, for frying

  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil

  • 1 Clove Garlic, Minced

  • 1/4 Cup Honey

  • 1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar

  • 0.5 Tbsp Lemon Juice

  • 0.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1/2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds

  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)

STEPS

  1. Heat Oil, about 2 inches deep, to 400F.

  2. Make sauce by adding sesame oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using) to pan, and allowing to cook for a few minutes, before garlic starts to brown.

  3. Whisk in the honey, vinegar, lemon juice, and soy sauce, and simmer for a few minutes until thickened.

  4. Stir in the sesame seeds and set the sauce aside for now.

  5. Fry the brussels sprouts until lightly browned, just about 2-3 minutes, then remove to a wire rack (optionally, lined with paper towel). Sprinkle with a bit of salt.

  6. Transfer the brussels sprouts to a bowl and toss with the sesame sauce.
