INGREDIENTS

  • 1lb Apples (I prefer half Granny Smith and half Honeycrisp)

  • 1/4 Cup Water

  • 1 Tbsp Light Brown Sugar

  • Pinch of Salt

  • 1/8-1/4 tsp Cinnamon (optional)

STEPS

  1. Peel and dice apples into 1/2” cubes.

  2. Add all ingredients to a heavy-bottomed pot, set over medium-low heat, and stir.

  3. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.

  4. Once apples have mostly broken down, transfer the mixture to a separate bowl and either blend or mash by hand.

  5. Serve warm, or cool for a few hours before enjoying.
